About us

Planted in La Puente, growing in La Habra, rooted in Christ.

CrossBridge Fellowship was founded by prayer and birthed by servant minded Christians who believe in the unification of generations within the church. CrossBridge began as three separate ministries who saw the need for unity within a multi-generational, church. Formed from the merge of Emmaus Community Church, Highlands Cornerstone Church, and Koinonia House Ministry, CrossBridge Fellowship aims to connect people together to humbly serve, build, and live out the Kingdom of God.

Three Ministries, One Story.

The unexpected way in which three ministries formed

can only be described as God’s divine design. Through guidance, prayer, and

a little bit of chance, three separate ministries united together in 2019 to begin

the process of creating one unified body.

A Little Bit of Chance.

During the end of 2018, Emmaus church, having just sold their

building, started to share space with Koinonia House. After Emmaus

members attended Koinonia’s retreat, members from both ministries started

to build a kinship with each other. Both ministries were second generational

English ministries dependent on a first-generation Korean church. Both

ministries were tight-knit communities with relationships that spanned many

years. Yet at the time, the chance encounter seemed to be nothing more

than a temporary arrangement.

United by Design.

However, unknown to either ministry, God was at work behind the

scenes. For many years the Holy Spirit had been pushing and prodding for

Pastor Oh, the then senior pastor of Highlands Cornerstone Church, to meet

with Pastor Lee, the then senior pastor of Koinonia House’s parent church.

Pastor Lee’s vision was to build up, support, and inspire the second-

generation church. His plan was to equip Koinonia House with the tools and

resources to become its own independent church rather than a dependent ministry.

At first, Pastor Oh was hesitant to meet with Pastor Lee because of his

current commitments, but after many months of leading by the Holy Spirit,

Pastor Oh agreed to meet with Pastor Lee. That meeting started the journey

of creating a new church. Pastor Oh heard and agreed with Pastor Lee’s

vision to build a multi-generational church that would invest in future

Christians. Pastor Oh agreed to lead this new endeavor and provide

guidance and leadership.

Fighting for the Future.

On Easter Sunday 2019, the three churches had service together for

the first time to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This

moment would mark the start of a unification of God’s churches that had

formerly been separate but were now working to become one.

Crossbridge Fellowship was formed from three separate ministries with

their own struggles and stories. We welcome you to join us to add your own story

to our God-willed tapestry. We hope that our story of three ministries becoming one church can

become a story of many people becoming one body of Christ.

James 2:14-26

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
